Brisbane Festival’s outdoor concert series will welcome a star-studded lineup this year, with acts such as Amy Shark, Icehouse, Xavier Rudd and two-time Golden Guitar winner James Johnston.

Australian musician James Johnston told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “I think country was in the blood from a very young age.”

“Everything that I write and I just try and tell my story, you know, different moments. Some of it’s looking back to where I came from, there’s a few songs that are coming out at the moment that are more about my present life with the family.”

“I just try and tell my story and I guess that’s as authentic as you can be.”
