Citroen C4 Grand Picasso people-mover

People movers make up a very small percentage of the new vehicle market – however one of the best kept secrets in the automotive world is the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso – a French seven-seater, and from my perspective a fabulous family vehicle – if you don’t want an SUV or four-wheel drive the Citroen Grand Picasso offers so much. Until recently only available as a 2.0-litre turbo diesel auto it has now been joined by a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol automatic at $38,490. Loaded with specification, only deletion over the diesel autonomous emergency braking but it does gain a temporary spare wheel over the diesel’s inflation kit. Seat versatility makes it a great family carrier – rear seats are individual fold flat while second row seats are individual sliding for and aft, there’s a 12-inch panoramic high definition central display featuring a reversing camera and 360 degree vision, a power rear tailgate, Sat Nav and a panoramic sunroof with power blind. Sadly, the importer shows little interest in promoting Citroen these days, this despite the fact that the French brand will turn 100 next year – yes, their cars are different but just so clever – some cars make motoring easy – the petrol Grand Picasso is one such vehicle – not as torquey as the diesel but still a nice driver with adequate power. There’s 36 I notice for sale on CarSales.com.au in N.S.W. dealers – negotiating a discount this month should be easy and you won’t be disappointed the C4 Grand Picasso is a very impressive people-mover.
