Calls to ban Lime Scooters from Brisbane streets

The death of an e-scooter rider who suffered a heart attack in Brisbane this week has prompted calls from the Australian Pedestrian Council to ban them from the city.

The RACQ says a ban is going too far but suggests there is a need for greater regulation and registration of e-scooters.

The Brisbane City Council will award two year licences to two scooter operators in July this year and despite the number of accidents and hospitalisations the director of government affairs for Lime Scooters assures Mark they are safe.
