Ash Barty’s rise to the No.1 world ranking in women’s tennis is nothing short of a fairytale.

Just three years ago the Ipswich born Barty was ranked 623rd in the world and now, with three wins this year including a Grand Slam, she joins the elite club of just five Aussie tennis stars to achieve No.1 status.

Tennis Queensland president Mark Blomfield tells Mark it’s been amazing to watch Ash go from strength to strength and he believes her success will inspire a new generation of young girls.
