11th hour victory for sensible Origin ID scanning

The iconic Caxton Hotel has scored an Origin victory over Liquor Licencing bureaucrats.

It challenged a ruling that would have forced it to start scanning patrons from 10pm on Origin night just as the huge crowds were filing out of Suncorp Stadium.

Arguing safety as an issue, The Administrative Tribunal agreed, deciding the scanning doesn’t have to start until 11:30pm.

Caxton licensee Ross Farquhar tells Ben it is a commonsense decision.
