There’s chaos for peak-hour commuters this evening in Brisbane’s north-west.

Queensland Rail’s head of south-east Queensland, Scott Riedel, said the signalling system connected to level crossings was impacted in a suspected vandalism attack.

There are major delays on the Ferny Grove train line.

“Currently the trains between Bowen Hills and Ferny Grove are suspended,” he told Scott Emerson.

“This is due to a suspected vandalism issue at Enoggera and we do have police on site helping us.”

There are buses and cabs available, but passengers are being warned of delays of an hour.

He said it was difficult to say how long the train line would be impacted.
