Opposition Leader David Crisafulli says the ambulance ramping crisis is impacting other emergency services in Queensland.

There are reports police are being forced to wait to hand over mental health patients.

Police Minister Mark Ryan says emergency services and the health system work together.

“Police, health, other emergency services work together,” he told reporters today.

“From time to time, the police service will be required to transport people to hospital who may be experiencing a mental health situation in their lives.”

Opposition Leader David Crisafulli said it’s a new low for Queensland Health, who he says are in “crisis”.

“Their crisis is now seeping into the delivery of essential services right throughout Queensland.”

He says police are becoming “de-facto paramedics”.
