Following the Matildas’ Women’s World Cup success, the younger generation has been inspired to follow their lead.

Rabieh Krayam, President of the Wynnum Wolves Football Club, told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “I think what the Matildas have done have bought hope, enthusiasm and I think it’s highlighted women’s sport in particular football.”

“It’s given a lot of inspiration to a lot of the young players…I think what they have done is unite people, people who have never followed the sport are now supporters, and we all want a feel good story and this is the best feel good story you can have,” Mr. Krayam continued.
