With Australia Day just around the corner, change-the-date protesters are starting to make themselves heard.

Mark Latham tells Michael McLaren the left will protest Australia Day but will still happily take the public holiday.

“The inner city trendies…nobody is putting a gun to anyone’s head to say you must get out and wave the flag.

“The grievance industry get a public holiday.”

Mark also slammed the decision of Melbourne’s Yarra City Council to cancel Australia Day celebrations.

“They’re taking the public holiday…whilst also refusing to run ratepayer events to celebrate Australia Day and make people proud of the wonderful country we live in.

“It’s a bit of a bludge from the left. They’ve got the best of both worlds.”
