Laurel exposes Troy Cassar-Daley’s snub of Russell Crowe on-air

Australian country music singer Troy Cassar-Daley has this morning confessed he has unknowingly been giving Russell Crowe the cold shoulder in recent weeks.
Cassar-Daley, Laurel Edwards’ “wandering minstrel husband”, last month reached out to Crowe for a video message to mark her recent milestone of 30 years in breakfast radio.
“I hadn’t heard from him, so I thought, ‘Well, he’s probably busy over there running around with Thor, with the big hammer, wherever they’re making that’,” Cassar-Daley told Laurel, Gary and Mark.
“I was cleaning out my junk mail in this computer of mine … and I thought, ‘Oh no… there’s a message from Russell there…'”

“I feel really embarrassed,” Cassar-Daley went on to admit.
“But anyway, it’s the thought that counts and it’s better late than never that he actually did this beautiful message!
“For him to take the time to do that for Laurel, for me, that’s amazing because I know how busy he is.”

UPDATE: Laurel says Troy has now redeemed himself after emailing an apology to Rusty and sharing the video this morning.
Ray Hadley noted Crowe sounds “a bit like the Gladiator” in this instance.
Gary Clare: “We have a policy of people who have deeper voices not being allowed on the show so we’re not having him again, okay?”
Ray Hadley: “Ah well, I mean, if Troy’s got anything to do with it, he won’t!
“Troy doesn’t have a very high opinion because he didn’t send Laurel the message, as we all know!”
