‘It wasn’t Fitzgerald 2.0’: Opposition renews calls for royal commission

The state opposition has renewed calls for a royal commission into integrity within the Queensland government.
David Crisafulli says he won’t “back away” from his call for a royal commission.
It comes after Tony Fitzgerald handed down a report into the Crime and Corruption Commission and how the agency investigates corruption.
32 recommendations have been made to fix systemic issues.
But Mr Crisafulli says it was not an investigation into integrity issues within the government.
“In [Mr Fitzgerald’s] defense, it was only a health check for the CCC,” he told Neil Breen.
“The government was parading his name around and calling it Fitzgerald 2.0.
“It wasn’t Fitzgerald 2.0.”
