Police are predicting a challenging few days when fully vaccinated Australians from hotspots can travel into Queensland by road on Monday.

Fully vaccinated people from NSW, Victoria, the ACT and South Australia will be able to enter the Sunshine State from Monday 1am.

Acting chief superintendent Rhys Wildman said police are expecting the first few days to be a challenge.

“Normally what we find, members of the public, it’s just a bit of a transition period those first couple of days, new passes, new processes etc. It’s also an adjustment period for our staff as we transition into this full risk-based approach,” he told Scott Emerson.

He said the border operations had been in place for 431 days.
