Award-winning investigative journalist and author, Hedley Thomas, reminisced about his groundbreaking journalistic investigations.

Mr. Thomas’ most notable work includes the Shandee case, ‘The Teacher’s Pet’ on the Chris Dawson case, Mohamed Haneef and Jayant Patel.

Mr. Thomas told Peter Gleeson on Drive, “The Shandee case that we started as a podcast, a murder investigation…we had no idea that it was going to fan out and become a major DNA inquiry that changed the criminal justice system in Queensland…”

“For many, many years, it has been badly failing with scientists in a lab that was bent, that was literally failing through, not just the incompetence, but the deliberate effective sabotaging of evidence…” Mr. Thomas continued.
