‘Heatwave’ warning for QLD, humidity set to peak

Energex crews say they’re prepared for the anticipated heatwave later this week.
A warning has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, which will last until the weekend.
The temperature is set to climb into the mid 30s, but the humidity will push up the “feels like” temperature.
Locations likely to be impacted include Bundaberg, Brisbane Metropolitan Area, Beaudesert, Caboolture, Caloundra, Maryborough and Redcliffe.
Energex spokesperson Justin Coomber said the systems are ready for a stretch of hot days or a mini heatwave.
“Heat is always an issue, but we do a lot of planning and working in the cooler months to make sure we are ready for the warmer months,” he told Neil Breen.
Advice for the most vulnerable, including the elderly, children and pregnant women is to keep cool by staying inside and drinking water.
