Were being urged to look out for measles symptoms with three people being diagnosed with the infection in one week.

A child visiting from Thailand is the latest victim to fall ill from the viral injection, becoming the third person in New South Wales to be diagnosed with measles in just one week.

The little girl, who developed symptoms a few days after Christmas Eve, visited locations in Chatwood and the Hunter alley while infectious.

Health authorities are urging anyone who visited the locations during late December to look out flu-like symptoms and red blotchy rash.

Travellers are also being urged to get vaccinated against the measles.

NSW Health’s Director of Communicable Diseases Doctor Vicky Sheppeard says there’s been a major outbreak in south-east Asia.

She tells Luke Grant young children are most at risk.
