A man who was meant to be in home quarantine has allegedly been caught out leaving his Gold Coast home, police say.

Police say the 36-year-old man was uncontactable and failed to respond to authorities, prompting police to make follow-up enquiries.

The man was not at his Southport home when police conducted compliance checks yesterday.

He was found on Wednesday where he was fined $1,334.
