‘Farmers need a break too’: Some much-needed stress relief for hard-pressed farmers

As early as tomorrow hard-pressed Aussie farmers may receive an unexpected offer to help deliver some much-needed stress relief.

P&O Cruises Australia has teamed up with Rural Aid and it’s Buy-A-Bale campaign to set aside a number of cabins specifically for drought-affected farmers.

P&O President, Sture Myrmell, tells Chris Smith they “have set aside 85 cabins across two cruises… and we’re hopefully going to put a number of farmers on those two cruises”.

Mr Myrmell says this offer is in response to the plea from Rural Aid that “farmers need a break too”.

“We thought we could provide some relief to the ongoing stress that this drought is putting on the farmers.”

Rural Aid will help determine the farmers most in need of a free break on one of the two cruises, one from Sydney to Moreton Island and the other from Brisbane to the Whitsundays.
