Fallen tree strands passengers on Gold Coast-bound train
Emergency crews and Queensland Rail staff have helped to evacuate 140 people off of a stranded train between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
The Central to Varsity Lakes service ground to a halt near Yatala, after tree fell and became caught in the overhead line.
It’s caused some temporary delays as a result.
Railbuses were arranged as a replacement.
The tree fell onto overhead lines, cutting power to the train and the train’s air conditioner, as temperatures soared.
