The sister of television actress Jessica Falkholt has died in hospital after a triple-fatal Boxing Day crash on the New South Wales south coast.

The horrific crash also claimed the lives of her parents and has left her sister in a critical condition.

Ms Annabelle Falkholt, 21, was a passenger when her parent’s car collided with another vehicle on the Princes Highway.

Police say the crash was caused by one car being on the wrong side of the road.

NSW Police Chief Inspector, Phillip Brooks, tells Warren Moore the accident is one of the worst he’s witnessed.

“It’s a very sad and tragic event. It’s one of the most tragic events I’ve been involved with in my time.”

Chief Inspector Brooks has urged drivers not to become complacent as the number of fatalities hits 23 since Operation Safe Arrival began a fortnight ago.

“People need to stop every two hours. Change drivers and then continue your journey safely.”
