The Bureau of Meteorology has declared a negative Indian Ocean Dipole system, likely to bring a lot of rain until the end of the year.

Weather expert David Taylor, who runs the Brisbane Weather storm chasers, says it’s a separate event to the La Niña phenomenon.

It will likely bring increased rain through most parts of Australia.

“That looks like that is going to continue to around December before it starts heading towards the negative phase.”
