In light of police investigations amid the Queensland bushfire emergency situation, questions are raised about the psychology of arsonists. 

Bruce Watt, Associate Professor at Bond University, told Peter Gleeson on Drive why people deliberately light fires.

“One of the big concerns is the lack of awareness of the potential dangers and risks associated, it’s more of a impulsive act with a lack of consideration…” Professor Watt explained.
