A man who was on bail for allegedly sexually assaulting a child has reportedly raped another child.

At 1am on Sunday, police stopped a vehicle in the Lake Macquarie area, north of Sydney.

The 28-year-old driver had two children in the car, including a 13-year-old girl who told police she was sexually assaulted by the man.

It’s alleged he met up with the teenager after grooming her on social media for 12 months.

Detectives have charged the man with three different offences, including breach of bail.

The man is John Blair Burns, with Ray Hadley exclusively revealing he was already on bail for theĀ alleged sexual assault of a young girl in the NSW Riverina.

Burns was arrested in July and refused bail by police and the local court three times over the alleged sexual assault of a young girl in Griffith.

He was facing a raft of charges including having sex with a person aged 14 to 16, producing child pornography and impersonating a police officer.

However, he applied for and was granted bail by Acting Justice Peter Hidden in the NSW Supreme Court in October.

Two days later, he failed to appear in court but a warrant for his arrest was not issued.

Now, a month later, Burns has allegedly struck again.

He appeared in Toronto Local Court on Monday morning, admitting to breaking curfew but denying the fresh allegations.

Ray Hadley can also reveal NSW Attorney General Mark Speakman is looking into the matter.

Mr Speakman says the allegations are “deeply disturbing” and says he’s “request an urgent brief” on the matter.

Full statement from Attorney General Mark Speakman:

“The allegations in this case which I have learned about this morning are deeply disturbing.

My thoughts are with the young people affected and their families.

I have made an urgent request for the relevant transcripts to understand the circumstances of this matter.

I have requested an urgent brief from the Department of Justice.”
