Residents of Lismore have received evacuation orders ahead of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. 

Mayor of Lismore, Steve Krieg, told Jason Matthews, “It’s the all too familiar bloody tale that we’re going through, sadly.”

“Evacuation orders out of our CBD and residents in north and south Lismore.”

“We don’t want to be put in the position that we were in 2022, where we had to rescue people in the middle of the night.”

“It’s a conservative approach, but I think it’s the right one, I’m one of the residents that has been evacuated today, so, it’s a little deflating, to be honest with you,” Mayor Krieg continued.
