The popular food writer Margaret Fulton has died aged 94.

Mrs Fulton received a Medal of the Order of Australia and was known for changing the way Australian’s ate.

She was most well-known for her 1968 The Margaret Fulton Cookbook.

In a statement, her family says they are “mourning the loss of their loving, inspirational and treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother”.

The Australian’s national food critic John Lethlean tells Steve Price “they broke the mould when Margaret was born”.

“She influenced so many people and she had this incredible reach across so many generations.

“We turn to Margaret Fulton still for her incredible wisdom and great recipes that work.”
