Brisbane toddler nearly drowns at South Bank Beach
A Brisbane toddler has escaped death after nearly drowning in Brisbane’s south.
The three-year-old boy got into trouble in the water at South Bank Beach at around 10pm on Sunday.
Paramedics attended the scene and transported the boy to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
The near-drowning comes just a day after a seven-year-old boy, believed to be a Japanese tourist, died after he was pulled from the water in Cairns.
Surf Lifesavers are pleading with parents to stay vigilant and watch their children in the water during the festive season.
