Breaking News: QLD Police shoot man who stabbed pregnant woman
A man has been shot after stabbing a pregnant woman and leading police on a dramatic chase on the Sunshine Coast.
It’s understood he stole a car at Hervey Bay at around 6.30 this morning before abandoning it.
He allegedly stole another vehicle at Maryborough, stabbing a pregnant woman in the hand in the process.

A police helicopter tracked the vehicle south along the Bruce Highway, with 10 police cars reportedly in pursuit.
Officers caught up with the thief at Nambour and shot the man, who was allegedly armed.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed paramedics were called to the scene and Queensland Police says the man is now in custody.
One lane in each direction has now reopened on the Bruce Highway.
