A man has been shot and an officer is believed to be injured after an incident at Kangaroo Point.

Senior Nine News reporter Tim Arvier told Sofie Formica police arrived at the unit complex to execute a search warrant.

“It sounds like things have escalated quite quickly,” he said.

A 38-year-old man allegedly stabbed one officer in the chin, prompting officers to shoot him in the abdomen.

He was taken to the PA Hospital in a critical condition.

“The officer has been taken to the Mater Private, obviously with those injuries to his face, in a stable condition,” Tim said.
