Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner has revealed restrictions on bus trips will be eased in a matter of days.

Since the pandemic, boarding has been through the back door and the front seats cordoned off to maintain social distancing.

But as the state closes in on its major vaccination milestones, front doors will be opened once again.

“We’ve been talking with Translink and they’re keen for this to happen as soon as possible,” Mr Schrinner told Scott Emerson.

“Within the next few days, it’ll be implemented across the fleet in Brisbane City Council, … where all-door boarding is open.

“It’s just a matter of making sure it’s rolled out and the message gets out to all the drivers.”
