Australia’s small town access to critical services scores an F after being assessed by the Regional Australia Institute.

Chris Smith speaks with Regional Australia Institute CEO Jack Archer on why these rural towns are scoring so poorly.

“We’re having some problems getting some of our key service professionals out in small towns.

“It means that we just we can’t get access to the doctors and nurses.

“The government’s putting a fair bit of effort into this. In the last budget, there was $2 billion set aside for incentives.

“Migration is a really important part of this. We need to welcome those people who are prepared to get out there and provide these services.”
