Anzac Day closures: Don’t be caught off-guard

In light of tomorrow’s Anzac Day, many shops and public transport services will be impacted.

Plus, there’ll be a dawn service held at Anzac Square in Brisbane’s CBD at 4:28am – it will be carried live on 4BC Breakfast with Laurel, Gary and Mark tomorrow morning, who’ll be on air from 4am.
Here’s a written summary of the closures for reference.
RETAIL
- Westfield Chermside, Carindale and Indooroopilly will be closed all day
- Woolworths – all stores except the Brisbane Airport will be closed
- Coles – all stores closed
- Aldi and IGA – some stores will be open but trading hours vary
- Big W, Bunnings, Kmart and all Post offices will be closed
- And most bottle shops will be open from 1pm
- Some cinemas will be open at nightÂ
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Additional bus, tram and train services will be available across the South East for Dawn Services tomorrow – with free travel offered to veterans, ADF personnel and ceremony participants.
- An extra 54 buses and 12 train services will be available from 3.20am
- The City Cat first departs from Northshore Hamilton from 2.30am and from St Lucia at 2.50am
- The Kangaroo Point Cross river ferry will depart from Holman St every 30 minutes from 3.08am to 4.38am
- Trains will begin running from 1.53am, with additional railbuses servicing the four stations between Rocklea and Park Road.
- And trams on the Gold Coast will also operate at 15-minute intervals from 3:30am until 7am
