Nationwide recall after popular air conditioning unit catches fire
There’s a nationwide recall for some air conditioning units, amid fears they could catch alight.
The consumer watchdog is urging anyone who purchased a Seeley International Braemar or Braemar Outdoor unit to stop using it immediately.
Energy Safe Victoria Acting Director of Energy Neil Fraser tells Luke Grant owners have been notified.
“This came as a result of an investigation in a small fire in an outdoor unit and when we contacted the supplier Seeley, they said that they had three other fires.
“But there’s only 70 units affects, 70 per cent have already been repaired and they’ve made contact with the other 20 owners.”
