Tougher child killer sentences under ‘Mason’s Law’

The Queensland Opposition is vowing that if it wins the next election child killers will spend more time behind bars.

It’s proposing what it’s calling “Mason’s Law”, named after Caboolture toddler Mason Jett Lee, which would see a new office of child manslaughter carrying a minimum non-parole period of 15 years.

State Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington tells Mark the public has had enough of weak sentences for those who kill society’s most vulnerable.
