A dozen of Queensland’s most experienced and highly trained firefighters are packing their bags for California to join the battle against devastating wildfires.

They leave on Friday as part of a 188 strong ANZAC contingent.

Director of the QFES State Operational Coordination Branch Chief Superintendent Neil Francis tells Mark the Queenslanders will be on the front lines.
