Suzuki Ignis GLX five-door SUV
When you drive two new cars a week you soon get a feel for a car that scores in all areas –price is not a criteria, it can more than likely happen at any pricing point. This happened to me recently with Suzuki’s new small Ignis SUV – from the moment I took the wheel the Suzuki Ignis GLX five-door impressed. Small yes but just so impressive – in a crowded motoring world the Suzuki Ignis makes a lot of sense. A 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine linked to a CVT or continuously variable automatic its very fuel efficient – I managed the quoted 4.7L/100km – and its solid despite an all-up weight of just 820kilos. The Ignis GLX as tested $19,990 drive-away giving you satellite navigation, a rear view camera, 7-inch colour touch screen and device connectivity, Cruise control, 16 inch alloys and power windows. I could quite easily live with a Suzuki Ignis if it was my final car purchase – let me tell you small SUV’s don’t come much finer. I’m David Berthon
