The Australian Medical Association has issued a warning over a massive bottleneck in public hospitals, where thousands of medically cleared elderly patients are stuck waiting years for scarce aged care beds.

AMA President Dr. Danielle McMullen joined Jason Matthews on 4BC Breakfast and warns that urgent reform across federal and state governments is needed to speed up assessments and build critical care infrastructure for an aging population.
