A new report by the ACCC is warning of increased energy bills, threatened manufacturing, industry and jobs due to potential gas shortages.

Shadow Resources Minister, Susan McDonald, says the warnings have been looming for three years.

“We have to release more offshore acreage, none has been released since Labor got into government, we have got to release more, speed up approval times, they’ve got to stop funding the Environmental Defenders Office,” she said.

She also called on the government to do more to bring gas to market.
