A recent announcement to extend the clearway times along the Waterworks Road, Musgrave Road corridor has caused a stir in the local community.

The previous clearway operating hours along the corridor were Monday to Friday from 7am till 9am and 4pm till 7pm however the times have now changed to 6am to 7pm 7 days a week.

State Member for Cooper, Jonty Bush, suggested that community consultation is required due to a myriad of issues and resident complaints regarding the changes, telling Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “They [Council] need to come back to the table, talk to residents.”

Ms Bush said, ” I managed to secure around $300,000 through this former state government to provide to the council to undertake a broad transport study.”

Councillor for the Enoggera Ward and Chair of the Brisbane City Council Infrastructure Committee, Andrew Wines has responded saying, “The real question is when will that $300,000 that she committed to arrive? She said that she was providing it, we’ve never received it.”

On the clearway changes, the Councillor continued saying, “the central idea of it will remain, but we can always talk.”
