This Queensland Day, five dedicated Queenslanders have been recognised as ‘Local Legends’ for their tireless work in their local communities. 

One recipient of the first-ever round of Local Legends awards is Martin Shaw, President of Wounded Heroes.

Mr Shaw told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, “We live in the best state in Australia and to be to be nominated and then receive the award is humbling and also allows me to advocate, around our Wounded Heroes Australia [and] the work we do around homeless veterans in the state, as well as veterans in crisis and domestic violence.”
