Police were called to Fortitude Valley at 3:30 am this morning after a man was allegedly assaulted and a building was set on fire.

Today Show Reporter Kendall Gilding joined Dean Miller on Summer Breakfast from the scene.

The streets surrounding the fire have reopened, but the alleged offender is still on the run.
