An emergency bushfire situation is occurring in Beerwah in the Glasshouse Mountains. 

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have put out a ‘Prepare to Leave’ warning this afternoon for properties between Steve Irwin Way, Irwin Road, Mawsons Road and the Bruce Highway, including Holt Road. 

Dannika, a Beerwah resident, told Peter Fegan on 4BC Drive that she cannot access her home, “It’s just a waiting game, watching it unfold in front of us.”

“It’s pretty full on, there’s a lot of smoke around, helicopters going absolute gangbusters, fire-fighters are out doing their work which is amazing, but it’s pretty full on,” Dannika said.
