An economist has declared that the iconic meat pie is in severe decline after interpreting the latest ABS data on where Australians are spending their money.

Economist Jason Murphy’s analysis of the latest ABS data has revealed that average pie consumption amongst Australians has plummeted by 40 per cent from it’s most recent peak in 2020.

Neil Breen called it a ‘national crisis’ on Brisbane Live.
