Push to ban abusive customers in QLD

There’s a push to ban customers who verbally abuse, harass, intimidate or assault retail workers in Queensland.
The Shop Distributive and Allied Employees Association has 33,000 retail, fast food, hairdressing and pharmacy employees in Queensland, and they say there’s been a huge increase in aggressive customers.
Branch secretary Chris Gazenbeek says it appears to have gotten worse, despite COVID-19 measures being removed.
“A lot of these restrictive measures have been removed and the customer abuse and violence continues,” he told Neil Breen.
He says workers are subjected to unnecessary abuse and attacks, and is calling for stronger measures to protect workers.
