A real estate agent has a bold idea to showcase a unique historical bridge in Brisbane, the Walter Taylor Bridge, and bring it back to life.

Jack Dixon from Dixon Estate Agents says the man behind the bridge, which opened in 1936, had a vision for it which included a grand ballroom and a riverside kiosk.

Until 2010, the bridge was used as accommodation.

It has a grand ballroom and space for a riverside kiosk, which were included in the original plans.

“I think he had a bigger vision for the bridge than what it is today,” Mr Dixon told Laurel, Gary and Mark.

He says given the size of the grand ballroom, it could be an ideal space for weddings or corporate events to showcase a beautiful piece of Brisbane heritage and infrastructure.
