You’d be forgiven for thinking legendary singer Cliff Richard is a lot younger than he really is. 

The 82-year-old is currently battling it out against 29-year-old hip-hop artist Stormzy for No 1 in the UK albums charts after releasing his first dedicated Christmas album in 19 years.

Sofie Formica: “There would be plenty of people who’ve lived 80 years or longer on this planet, who would be looking at you, wondering how time has stood still for you!

“I’m sure you’re still wearing the same pants that you did in the ’70s!”

Cliff Richard: “Well, there’s a lot of luck involved in that. My mother, had she not died of pneumonia, … she’d have still looked younger than me.

“I remember taking her to the premiere of The Young Ones, the film I made, and one press man came up to me and said, ‘Who’s the new girlfriend?’

“My mother heard him. She was talking about him for the next 10 years!”
