Weekend weather: Thousands of velella jellyfish wash up on Gold Coast beach

Thousands of velella jellyfish have washed up on a Gold Coast beach.
Nine News weather presenter Luke Bradnam said it was quite a sight.
“I had a look on the beach, initially I thought they were blue bottles, we are not talking about hundreds of these, there are thousands of them washed up on Coolangatta beach, literally thousands,” he told Spencer Howson, filling in on Brisbane Live.
He said the northerly winds bring them in.
There were some blue bottles among those washed up, he said.
