Transport Minister hoses down ‘inaccurate’ Coomera Connector figure

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey has moved to correct reports that the second stage of the Coomera Connector project could impact as many as 400 homes.
It follows community discussion in recent weeks, with locals pushing for more details.
Minister Bailey said the next stages and what that looks like, is being planned now.
“But basically about another 27 kilometre you plug it into the Logan Motorway,” he told Neil Breen on Brisbane Live.
There’s more work to do on the designs, he said.
“In this case it’s 104 homes identified for the sections north of stage one that we are doing now.
“I think the suggestion was made that the number could be as many as 394, which actually isn’t right, which wasn’t accurate.
“What that figure is a reference to, there were six other alternative routes put by some of the community which we then had explored … basically they said those alternative routes may have impacted as 394 [homes].”
