Labor unveils election promise costings with $19 billion price tag

4BC News

Australia’s budget bottom line would be more than $7 billion worse off under a Labor Government.

The federal Opposition has released its final policy costings this afternoon, unveiling a $19 billion price tag for its election promises over the forward estimates.

Shadow Treasurer Jim Chalmers claims it’s a fraction of the waste clocked up by the Coalition.

“The difference between our budget and the government’s budget is $7.4 billion of investments in key economy-growing areas like childcare and training, and cleaner and cheaper energy,” he said.

“We will end the Liberal rorts and waste and mismanagement.”

The federal government unveiled 37 policies at a cost of more than $2 billion earlier this week.
