Karen Andrews: Premier using Olympics as ‘personal plaything’
The Home Affairs Minister has slammed Queensland’s Premier after her partner was spotted at an Olympics meeting.
Surgeon Reza Adib sat in on a face-to-face meeting at a boardroom table and posed for official photographs at the weekend.
While Annastacia Palaszczuk first insisted the meeting was an “informal catch-up”, she yesterday apologised for Dr Adib’s inclusion.
Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews told Neil Breen it was “an appalling lapse of judgement”.
“My husband does come to Liberal National Party meetings with me,” she said. “Have I taken him to a business meeting with an MP or a minister? No!
“I have no idea what the Premier was thinking when she did that. What did she think it was? Bring Your Boyfriend to Work Day?
“Quite frankly, she’s treating the Olympic Games as her personal plaything.”
