The Super Bowl is done and dusted but there’s been more than one winner today.

Sport technology company VALD has been supporting the Los Angeles Rams’ training throughout the season and can count itself among the contributors to the team’s success.

The Newstead-based company provides technology that can analyse athlete performance for coaches to determine training and plays.

Co-founder Sam James told Neil Breen the Rams are one of 26 NFL teams that use their technology.

“We have basically things that look like gym equipment and you do exercises on them,” he said. “We measure the strength of an athlete.

“A team might use that to determine whether they’re up to playing, or if they’re coming back from an injury are they’re up to play again, or if they had a tough match on the weekend, are they ready to train on a Monday.”
