A Brisbane Live listener has shared her account of a shocking increase to her weekly rent at an apartment in the West End.

Sascha had been living in the same unit for over 5 years and was advised via email if she wanted to renew the lease, it would increase to $1100 a week up from $750 a week.

That’s a 46 per cent increase.

“We’ve rented elsewhere,” she told Neil Breen.
